Smith is a rising senior at Sacramento State University, coming off a season where he carded a 63 during the second round of the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay. He started his first 10 holes at 1-over but set a torrid pace during his second eight, carding two eagles and four birdies for a second nine total of 30.
